With a little more than a month before the application deadline, the Iowa Startup Accelerator is poised to select ten teams to participate in the inaugural program. The selected teams/companies will represent some of the most innovative thought leaders and entrepreneurs in the bio, health, education and agricultural tech industries.

Apply online.

Applicants to the program will compete for a place in the sought-after accelerator, and those startups that make the cut receive access to world-class mentors, $20,000 in seed funding, and have the opportunity take up residence in a fully-furnished, collaborative workspace in Geonetric’s currently-under-construction 45,000 square-foot building in the New Bohemia neighborhood with access to a direct fiber connection. At the end of the 90 days, each team will have the opportunity to pitch their concept for the opportunity to garner up to an additional $100,000 in investment.

“If your concept is solid, and you are willing to put the work in to make it happen, then apply to the Iowa Startup Accelerator,” says CEO of Geonetric and the Iowa Startup Accelerator Founder, Eric Engelmann. “If your idea is accepted by our program, we will put the time, energy and money behind it to help you succeed.”

The Geonetric facility is located in the New Bohemia District of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The site is a former brownfield under redevelopment by the tech company, and sits in a newly revitalized neighborhood that was ravaged by the 2008 floods.

The Iowa Startup Accelerator’s wide network of mentors sets it apart. Filled with entrepreneurs who have experienced their own success in the tech industry, as well as savvy business leaders and legal masterminds, this group is designed to help the teams grow and succeed quickly. With top-notch mentors committed to seeing 10 teams from concept to success, the Midwestern-based accelerator is poised to help uncover and incubate tomorrow’s technology.

“I’ve been there. I’ve lived the startup life and I’ve handpicked this network to give our teams what they need to succeed,” says Engelmann who founded Geonetric, a successful software company and 7-time Inc. 5000 list recipient.

Interested teams and individuals are encouraged to apply online at IowaStartupAccelerator.com. Applications are being accepted through June 22, 2014. The 90 day program will have the selected teams in place by August 4, 2014.
