Cedar Rapids, IA, September 5, 2017 – Today, Aaron Horn joined the staff at The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo) as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Horn previously worked as the Director of IT for the Iowa Interstate Railroad and formerly served as the President of the NewBoCo Board.

“I moved to Eastern Iowa from Central Iowa in 2014 and was very intentional about getting connected with the entrepreneurial ecosystem here,” Horn said. “Early on, I spoke with Eric Engelmann and he introduced me to the idea for the Iowa Startup Accelerator and I knew right away that I wanted to be involved. Since then, I have gradually increased my involvement with NewBoCo and I’m excited to be joining full time.”

NewBoCo hired a COO because of a need to direct, grow, nurture, and expand its programming, including statewide.

“We are growing a wide array of impactful programs that solve important problems in our community, and Aaron can help us nurture and expand them as they mature,” NewBoCo Executive Director Eric Engelmann said. “Aaron’s previous leadership experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, as well as his support for NewBoCo for the past three years, make him the perfect addition to our growing team.”

Horn has been involved with all of our programs, most since the inception of the nonprofit, including as an Iowa Startup Accelerator (ISA) Fund investor, ISA mentor, and serving as a member of the NewBoCo Board since 2014 and as board chairman from April 2016-August 2017.

“The programs that we offer at NewBoCo are things that I’m super passionate about, so I feel very fortunate to be able to come on board full time,” Horn said. “The staff here is incredibly talented and doing really important work. I’m very honored to be working with them.”[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row]
