All four mayoral candidates to participate in 1 Million Cups forum Sept. 22

Amara Andrews, Myra Bradwell, Brad Hart, and Tiffany O’Donnell to discuss entrepreneurship, innovation and tech education during live NewBoCo event at Cedar Rapids’ Olympic Theater

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (Sept. 21, 2021) – The four candidates for Cedar Rapids Mayor will meet in person at 1 Million Cups on Wednesday, Sept. 22 for a forum on entrepreneurship, innovation and tech education. 

The forum will take place at the Olympic South Side Theater, 1202 3rd Ave. SW. Doors open at 8 a.m., followed by the forum from 8:30 to 9:30 and then coffee and conversation with the candidates from 9:30 to 10. 

The forum features Cedar Rapids mayoral candidates Amara Andrews, Myra Colby Bradwell, Brad Hart and Tiffany O’Donnell. The forum will mark the first live public appearance of all four candidates together.

The discussion will be moderated by Jennifer Murphy, NewBoCo Director of Innovation, who will ask questions specifically focusing on entrepreneurship, tech education, and innovation in the Cedar Rapids business community.

The public is welcome to attend, although seating will be socially distanced and the wearing of masks is encouraged.

The forum will be recorded, and the full video shared online within 24 hours of the forum’s completion. 

NewBoCo is a 501c3 non-profit focused on making our state more resilient to a changing economy by supporting entrepreneurship, innovation and tech education. Wednesday’s event is a nonpartisan effort to discuss issues with the candidates and the electorate that are important to our mission.
