This Giving Tuesday in honor of Computer Science Education Week, Iowa Startup Accelerator is asking our community of supporters to donate to Imagination Iowa.
Wait, what’s Imagination Iowa? I thought that Iowa Startup Accelerator was a program to help launch successful startups!
The 90-day accelerator program is only a part of what we do at ISA. Granted, it’s a big part of our focus since it’s our flagship program, but our mission is bigger than the 90 days we spend with the accelerator teams.
Imagination Iowa is a PreK-12 STEM program that encourages creativity, fosters entrepreneurship, and helps kids learn to code. ISA hosts and runs this program in an effort to support Iowa’s future generations of creatives, founders, developers, and entrepreneurs.
Twice a month, Imagination Iowa meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 1-3 p.m. with stations for first time coders (Code.org), beginner coders (CodeAcademy and Code Combat), and experienced coders (mentor-led Javascript, PHP, Minecraft modding, and more) and creative play stations including Makey Makey, littleBits, and Legos.
ISA and Imagination Iowa: CoderDojo Cedar Rapids, LittleBits, & more will be inviting 15 waves of students into our space to engage in an Hour of Code. To keep this effort in full swing, we need your help! Please donate today in support of coding initiatives taking place right here in our community: Donate Now.
