Embracing an Agile Mindset with Upcoming Certification Opportunities

[vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/1″][text_output]I worked at a corporation for more than four years and was first trained to use Agile there. It was a good introduction to a different work style for me, but I never thought it pertained to me because I wasn’t on a software team. When I joined NewBoCo, one of the experiments we constantly run and tweak is infusing Agile principles in all teams, not just software. This really got me excited and blew my mind at the same time. I preach having an Agile mindset but never thought about actually being on an Agile team. Fast forward eight months, and I’m the Product Owner of our Innovation Services team.

At my last company, one of my favorite vendors I used was Conteneo, creator of Innovation Games. In less than two years I launched Innovation Games© at nine locations and trained 300+ employees, resulting in 1,300+ online games played, 15,500+ new ideas generated, and 1,650+ employees and customers engaged. These tools have a simple, fun name, but yield great results – and people love them.

When I was introduced to Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) Jason Tanner, who offers both Scrum Alliance Product Owner® and ScrumMaster® certification courses that include Innovation Games – I knew we had to get him to Iowa ASAP.

Through short, focused lectures that examine each piece of the Scrum framework, the class will engage in several small group activities using Innovation Games® to reinforce each topic and maximize your understanding and retention of Scrum. Jason shares proven, real-world experiences and techniques for implementing Scrum.

Five reasons to take advantage of these personal development opportunities

  1. These certifications aren’t offered often locally, most are offered in the Des Moines-area only a couple times/year.
  2. Save yourself the travel cost. We are bringing in Jason Tanner from North Carolina, who is one of less than 300 Certified Scrum Trainers worldwide – if you are traveling outside of the Corridor, we have a travel discount for you (email mandy@newbo.co).
  3. Expand your career opportunities by staying relevant and marketable across all industry sectors adopting Agile practices.
  4. Learn the foundation of Scrum and the scope of the role.
  5. Leave knowing core Innovation Games and immediately start infusing them within your teams.
Don’t miss this certification opportunity

The Agile / Scrum team at NewBoCo is partnering with Applied Frameworks to bring two Certified Scrum Trainings to Iowa:

Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) + Innovation Games®

A Certified ScrumMaster® helps project teams properly use Scrum, increasing the likelihood of the project’s overall success. CSMs understand Scrum values, practices, and applications and provide a level of knowledge and expertise above and beyond that of typical project managers. CSMs act as “servant leaders,” helping the rest of the Scrum team work together and learn the Scrum framework. CSMs also protect the team from both internal and external distractions. Learn more. Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) + Innovation Games®

Certified Scrum Product Owner® professionals have been taught the Scrum terminology, practices, and principles that enable them to fulfill the role of Product Owner on a Scrum team. CSPOs are typically the individuals who are closest to the “business side” of the project. They are charged by the organization to “get the product out” and are expected to do the best possible job of satisfying all the stakeholders. CSPOs maintain the product backlog and ensure that everyone knows the priorities. Learn more. Register here. [/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row]
