There are several funding sources available to support computer science professional development for Iowa educators.
Districts and accredited nonpublic schools may consider the below options when planning professional learning opportunities.
2026 Funding Opportunities
Computer Science Professional Development Incentive Fund (CSPDIF)
The Iowa Department of Education administers the Computer Science Professional Development Incentive Fund to expand access to high-quality computer science training for Iowa teachers.
- Eligible applicants:
- School districts
- Accredited nonpublic schools
- Collaboratives
- Purpose: To provide funding for evidence-based professional development in computer science education.
- Application deadline: November 14, 2025

CTE and Perkins Funds
Districts offering computer science courses that align with Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways may utilize CTE or Perkins funds to support professional learning that enhances instruction within these approved program areas.
Teacher Quality (TQ) Funds
Teacher Quality funds may be used for professional development designed to improve instructional practices, including training in computer science.
