Cedar Rapids, IA, August 10, 2018 – NewBoCo is launching a second cohort for Intrapreneur Academy this October. Intrapreneur Academy is a year-long training program where organizations of all types learn how to be innovative in a rapidly changing world.
“The demand for Intrapreneur Academy in the area, and now, state has been a very pleasant surprise,” Director of Innovation Mandy Webber said. “My initial goal for this year was to launch one cohort with five teams and a group of 25 intrapreneurs. Our inaugural cohort did just that with six teams, and the response from many that didn’t commit ‘was, later, not now’. Now is ‘later’, and we are recruiting for our second cohort to start this October.”
“I’ve already got two teams committed and my calendar is filling up with requests to learn more about Intrapreneur Academy to see if its a good fit for others.”
The inaugural Intrapreneur Academy cohort kicked off in April with a mix of nonprofit, for-profit, and government entities as well as ranging in size from three to thousands of employees. The six teams represent the Linn County Auditor’s Office, Marion Process Solutions, Rockwell Collins, United Way of East Central Iowa, Van Meter, and Woofables.
These organizations have been through their first quarter of the program focused on Agile and are already successfully implementing changes to the way they work, including celebrating wins and making their work more visible to increase transparency and communication.
“Intrapreneur Academy has been a game changer for our Organizational Effectiveness Team,” Van Meter Inc. Continuous Improvement Specialist Jordan Grimm said. “It has inspired us to rethink the way that we get work done and many of the things we learned have helped us to execute on key projects. Van Meter is a better company because of our partnership with NewBoCo.”
Companies interested in learning about this program are invited to attend an information session with Webber on August 15 or August 28, or can schedule a separate 1-on-1 session here. For more information or questions about this year-long training program, please contact innovation@newbo.co.
