Meet the NewBoCo Launch Day Emcee: Eric Hanson

Meet the man behind the mic, Eric Hanson. If you’re like us, you start your day listening to Eric and his cohosts on Z102.9’s “The Morning Scramble” on your way to work. We wanted to put a face to the voice heard ’round the Corridor, so we asked Eric a few questions about this community.

Q: How would you describe NewBoCo’s impact on the community?

A: “NewBoCo is a jolt of energy and adrenaline for this region. Its programs help spark new ideas in work and education and propel those ideas in all kinds of directions.”

Q: What are you most excited about as the Launch Day emcee?

A: “I’m looking forward to the entire program of Launch Day. The event team has assembled a great group of speakers to talk about NewBoCo’s impact on education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Plus, the excitement and support the audience has for the ISA teams is contagious.”

NewBoCo is embracing Theatre Cedar Rapids’ Elf holiday set as part of Launch Day, so we asked Eric about his own holiday traditions.

Q: What’s your favorite part of the season?

A: “My favorite part of the Christmas season is a mix of whimsy and magic. You never grow too old for Christmas. And I love being able to share the holiday with close friends, my family, and my nieces and nephews.”

Q: Do you have a favorite holiday sweater? What does it look like?

A: “My favorite holiday sweater was a thrift shop find a few years ago. It’s actually a women’s vest. BTW, I’m a women’s XXL.”

You can join Eric Hanson at Launch Day on Tuesday, December 11, by RSVPing here: newbo.co/launch-day.
