I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I have always been an artist at heart and involved in arts throughout my life. My professional career consists of many management and leadership positions from Human Resource Manager to operations manager and employee training. I have experience with keeping track of inventory as well as profit and loss. Hiring, benefits, payroll, and wage management. Leading and communicating with people is my strength!
In the spring of 2022, I admitted myself to a residential treatment facility where I embarked on a journey of recovery from addiction. When I came home I began to make jewelry as a coping skill and quickly found I was good at it. I am passionate about helping others and determined to make a difference in the lives of others. Addiction and mental health are both matters that society tends to be reactive toward rather than proactive. I want to change that.
I began to create jewelry using a natural crystal that harnesses powerful energy and gives amazing benefits to our bodies and soul. My jewelry and accessories are functional and beautiful. I educate my consumer on the benefits as well. Today I am obtaining my art therapy certification and plan to offer classes in the community, especially to those battling addiction and struggling with their mental health. I am highly motivated to motivate and inspire individual, helping them find the beauty and power within themselves.
Business Description
My business Keely’Sacred Lotus is BoHo-style jewelry and accessories. I primarily use natural elements such as crystals, leather, feathers, and wood. Everything I make is functional, providing healing benefits through natural crystals. I currently operate out of my home as well as vendor and craft shows. I have been a guest vendor at NewBo City Market for the past seven months. I have attended large and small vendor and craft shows throughout Iowa. I began in July of 2022 out of necessity for my health and grew quickly as a passion to help others.
What is the Purpose of This Loan?
I am applying for this loan because I would like to reach many more people than I currently am. I would like to have the proper supplies and tools to make the items I know the consumer wants and not be limited by the funds I make from show to show. I would like to have the ability to purchase equipment to make my job easier. I would like to attend all the vendor shows I can without fear of making enough money to pay the vendor fees to attend the next show. This loan will allow me to do all of the things and more! I will have the means to purchase software to help with bookkeeping and advertising. This loan will help me extend my reach into and beyond my community!
