NewBoCo's Girls Who Code

NewBoCo’s Girls Who Code Clubs are designed for students in 3rd–5th grade and 6th–12th grade who want to join a supportive sisterhood of peers and use computer science to make a difference in the world.

In these clubs, students will:

  • Learn from industry professionals who guide and inspire.
  • Practice new skills through fun, hands-on projects.
  • Build community with interactive and collaborative activities.

Whether they’re beginners or have some coding experience, participants will gain valuable skills while forming lasting connections in a welcoming and empowering environment.

“As a freshman in high school, I never considered a career in engineering until I joined Girls Who Code. I wish every day was Saturday so I could code with my friends.” – Girls Who Code Participant.

3-5th grade club

Our 3–5th Grade Clubs help build the foundational skills and understanding of computer science concepts and sisterhood through a reading discussion and coding activities.

6-12th grade club

Our 6–12th Grade Club provides even more hands-on opportunities to learn and practice computer science concepts and sisterhood. Students will start transitioning to typed coding languages and take on projects as a team to work on collaborating and problem solving together.
