If you’ve ever wanted to start your own business but don’t know where to begin, this 90-minute panel discussion will guide you through the essential steps to make your business “official.” Join Mark Hermann, an experienced SCORE Mentor and business leader, along with Julie Lammers from Lammers Consulting, as they share their expertise on how to start a business.
Topics will include customer discovery, choosing the right company name, understanding business structures (LLC, C-Corp, or S-Corp), obtaining an EIN, registering your business, and much more.

Meet the Panel:
Mark Hermann has been helping companies manage business risks for over 35 years. With experience in managing and owning three businesses, Mark has gained deep insight into the real challenges faced by both startup and existing business owners. He leverages this experience to guide companies through the complex process of business development.
Julie Lammers is a champion of the entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow. She provides coaching and mentoring services to entrepreneurs and economic development centers, including the Iowa SBDC, Marion Chamber of Commerce, and the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program. She is President of Lambro Properties, a commercial investment company and Lambro Business Services, a business consulting company. Julie sold her privately owned group of stores (Coffeesmiths) to a top Midwest franchisor, Scooters Coffee in 2016. Her areas of expertise are in retail: food and consumer products, process development, business plans, business pitches, and employee engagement. Julie also enjoys her role as an Adjunct Instructor at Kirkwood Community College, teaching our next generation about business concepts and entrepreneurship.
