Position Summary

NewBoCo is looking to hire an Assistant Director of Development to help our development team implement a strategy to increase the size, scope and capability of the non-profit organization. The Assistant Director of Development will work alongside the Director of Development to plan and implement a comprehensive program for NewBoCo that secures significant funding resources from individuals, corporations, and foundations for entrepreneurship, innovation, and tech education, both regionally and statewide. This position will be particularly focused on the grant writing, storytelling, research and reporting process. Through this role, this person will be deeply involved and be able to work with a wide variety of exciting projects and events that NewBoCo operates.

This role requires strong writing and journalism skills and attention to detail. Those who enjoy writing and storytelling are encouraged to apply.

The NewBoCo team currently works in a hybrid model with opportunities to work remotely or in the Vault Coworking space.

Responsibilities

  • Developing relationships with outside organizations to partner with for funding opportunities
  • Overseeing the grant process including research, submission strategy, writing and reporting.
  • Writing custom proposals for major corporate sponsors and other funders
  • Providing regular reports to program leads on the status of funding for their programs
  • In partnership with the Director of Development, meet with sponsors and donors to tell the story of NewBoCo’s programs
  • In partnership with the marketing team, coordinate sponsor perks and other media highlights
  • In partnership with the Director of Communications, serve as a writer and storyteller for various NewBoCo publications
  • Tracking funder strategies and interactions in a CRM donor software

Some details you should know
  • This is a full-time, salaried role commensurate with experience
  • Requires flexibility to work limited evening and weekend hours (rare, but may occur throughout the year) as needed for meetings, projects, and events
  • You’ll be required to pass a background check and enter an agreement to safeguard proprietary information of NewBoCo and our clients as a part of the on-boarding process
