Code++
February 4, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Join us for Code++ 2023!
During this exciting one-day event, 8th–12th grade students will dive into the limitless possibilities of technology through hands-on learning in a particular area of computer science. Specifically, we will explore computer programming and physical computing!
We also always want to give you great examples of the things you’ll learn, so we enlist the help of industry professionals. They’ll introduce you to the vast and diverse world of computer science and share some of their own experiences and encouragement!
What is physical computing?
You’ve probably heard of computer programming or coding, but what is physical computing? Broadly speaking, physical computing is a way to help us understand our relationship to the digital world. For our purposes, we mean programmable devices that use sensors, LED lights and speakers that translate code into actions! Using Circuit Playgrounds, you’ll teach these devices to complete fun tasks and learn about programming along the way!
Physical computing helps us better understand principles like electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, computer science, and especially embedded development.
What do I need to participate?
If you have a Windows or Mac laptop available to you, please bring it. But if you don’t, that’s okay! Please let us know in your application and we’ll provide one. Then, the best part: attendance is free thanks to our generous sponsor, Collins Aerospace!
Just show up at 9 AM with your curiosity, a computer (if you have it), and a good night’s sleep and you’ll have everything you need to be successful! 🌟
So, are you ready to learn more about the technology of today and tomorrow, hear from industry pros, and meet other’s just like you? Sign up at the link below!
