DESCRIPTION:This 5-day summer professional learning experience prepares educators to teach Code.org’s Computer Science A (CSA) course\, with a focus on Java and object-oriented programming. Participants will engage in hands-on lessons\, build content knowledge\, and explore effective strategies for supporting students in an engaging\, inclusive high school CS classroom. \nIn Computer Science A (CSA)\, students learn object-oriented programming using Java. Students take on the role of software engineers\, and practice skills that are used in the field. \nThe Code.org curriculum for CSA is designed for any high school student who wishes to continue their computer science education after completing an introductory course such as Computer Science Principles (CSP) or Computer Science Discoveries (CSD). \nAP® Computer Science A (AP CSA) is a Java programming course offered by the College Board.
