2022 Future City Regionals

January 22 @ 8:00 am - 3:30 pm

2022 Future City Regionals banner - Potamoi of Harding Middle School, winners of the 2020 regional Future Cities competition at Prairie Pointe Middle School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Future City starts every year with an important challenge topic—how can we make the world a better place? To answer it, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future that showcase their solutions that address worldwide sustainability issues.

This year’s theme, “Waste-Free Future,” challenges teams to identify and tackle challenges related to eliminating waste.

Teams will be asked to design a waste-free city that uses the principles of a circular economy.

Future City Iowa is looking for volunteers to help with the Regional Competition and there are lots of ways to get involved! Please click here to learn more about volunteer opportunities or follow the button below to sign up!
