eCourt Reporters Partners with NewBoCo Entrepreneurship

November 1, 2019, Cedar Rapids, IA – eCourt Reporters is now an Iowa Startup Accelerator portfolio company following investment by the ISA Fund LP in October.

“We’re thrilled to have eCourt Reporters as a portfolio company because they’re a strong new company with an award-winning platform being built here in the Midwest,” NewBoCo Executive Director and Accelerator Managing Director Eric Engelmann said.

eCourt Reporters connects law firms, government entities, court reporting firms and agencies directly to certified court reporters and legal videographers in all 50 states through its online platform. Its technology makes the scheduling and booking process efficient and cost effective.

As an accelerator portfolio company, eCourt Reporters has access to a variety of NewBoCo’s entrepreneurial programming, including accelerator mentors, Agile training with NewBoCo Agile Coach Nate Adams, and the ability to work with NewBoCode, NewBoCo’s software and web development team.

“We’re so excited to have the forces of NewBoCo on our side to reach new heights in the legal industry,” eCourt Reporters CEO Karen Renee said.

“We are in a unique position to support the growth and development of this young company, and I’m glad that we can be part of their story,” Engelmann said.

The eCourt Reporters team, Renee and Vice President Judy Gerulat, kicked off this partnership with an Agile session led by Adams and NewBoCode services led by NewBoCo UI/UX Developer Jess Bertling and NewBoCo Software Developer Robbie Nesmith.

“We are very proud to partner with NewBoCo as we rapidly move our business forward with their assistance,”  eCourt Reporters Vice President Judy Gerulat said.

“I like working on the eCourt Reporters’ platform because it’s filling a real need in the legal field which is evidenced by the number of customers actively using their service. Data provided by those very real customers has been crucial to informing the founders as to what we should be building for their MVP (minimum viable product),” Bertling said. “As founders, Karen and Judy really understand what they need to prioritize and work on for their customers.”

eCourt Reporters’ marketplace is live and active with registered users across all 50 states.   Law firms and government entities are already taking advantage of the cost-saving features. Court reporters and legal videographers are capitalizing on the financial benefits.  This unique system is a win/win with technology designed to improve scheduling for the legal community.
